JEFF RICHARDS

As an actor, singer, writer and producer, Jeff has covered many facets of the entertainment industry. Not content with sitting by the phone, Jeff began to write pieces in which he could perform and have more creative control.

In 1997 he wrote, produced and played one of the lead characters in his play Stations, presented by BOOMBA Productions (BIG Cat's predecessor) at the Carlton Courthouse, where it played to full audiences and received four awards for Best Production, Best Director, Best Sound and Best Supporting Actor at the 1997 Victorian Drama League Awards. Jeff then turned full circle and went back to where he began, film.

As an actor, his film and television credits include; The White City Fix, Play Dead, 12 ish, The Big Steal, Mission Impossible, Rose Against The Odds, Boys From The Bush, A Country Practice, Neighbours, The Magistrate, Flying Doctors and Hunting. Some of Jeff's stage credits include City Of Angels, The Fantasticks, On The Town, If Only I'd Listened To Mother, Miss Ceremonial Velvet, Aladdin, Flora The Red Menace, Pacific Overtures, the Malaysia and Asia tours with Walt Disney Entertainment and many others.

Apart from throwing himself into writing and producing the feature film Heart (working title) and Water Deep in co-production with Salmac Productions (with co-producer Sally McLean), Jeff has since written several other pieces written in various stages of completion, including: The full length features, Uriel, Taleron, Edward and The Bear Pit. Jeff continues to work as an actor in the Australian film, television and theatre industry, and is grateful to be doing what he loves.
