JEFF
RICHARDS
As an actor, singer, writer
and producer, Jeff has covered many facets of the entertainment
industry. Not content with sitting by the phone, Jeff began to
write pieces in which he could perform and have more creative
control.
In 1997 he wrote, produced
and played one of the lead characters in his play Stations, presented by BOOMBA Productions
(BIG Cat's predecessor) at the Carlton Courthouse, where it played
to full audiences and received four awards for Best Production,
Best Director, Best Sound and Best Supporting Actor
at the 1997 Victorian Drama League Awards. Jeff then turned full
circle and went back to where he began, film.
As an actor, his film and television
credits include; The White City Fix, Play Dead, 12 ish, The
Big Steal, Mission Impossible, Rose Against The Odds, Boys From
The Bush, A Country Practice, Neighbours, The Magistrate, Flying
Doctors and Hunting. Some of Jeff's stage credits
include City Of Angels, The Fantasticks, On The Town, If Only
I'd Listened To Mother, Miss Ceremonial Velvet, Aladdin, Flora
The Red Menace, Pacific Overtures, the Malaysia and Asia
tours with Walt Disney Entertainment and many others.
Apart from throwing himself
into writing and producing the feature film Heart (working title) and Water
Deep in co-production with Salmac Productions (with co-producer
Sally McLean), Jeff has since written several other pieces written
in various stages of completion,
including: The full length features,
Uriel, Taleron, Edward and The Bear Pit. Television:
The Mukes - an animated childrens series.
Theatre; Siblingsa four part play and Portraits
- a two part musical.
Jeff continues to work as an
actor in the Australian film, television and theatre industry,
and is grateful to be doing what he loves.
