PETER TAYLOR
Peter Taylor is a nationally
recognized authority on marketing, distribution and exhibition
in Australia and the UK.
Peter started his career in
distribution for Twentieth Century Fox in the UK, eventually
taking the role of Theatrical Sales Manager, where he was involved
in the development of national sales and marketing campaigns
for films such as Braveheart and The Full Monty.
In 1998, he moved to Australia
to accept the position of Distribution Executive at Beyond International.
He set up and ran their local distribution arm, becoming Head
of Local Distribution for Beyond Films in Sydney Australia, before
taking the position in 1999 of Campaign Consultant (Distribution
& Marketing) for G.O. Films, working with Nick Giannopoulos,
the writer/producer and star of the Australian feature film,
The Wog Boy.
The Wog Boy went onto break several Australian
box office records, including highest previews and opening weekend.
It has since been released internationally.
Peter's other film distribution
campaigns in both Australia and the UK include feature films
such as The Commitments, The Star Wars Trilogy
re-release, Aliens 3, In The Company of Men and Lolita,
amongst others. He was also involved in the development of the
internal database and applications software for world-wide networking
for Twentieth Century Fox, and the design of the Local Film Distribution
software package for Beyond Films, and was the author of Theory
of Sales Distribution for Twentieth Century Fox, which became
their training guide for new staff.
He most recently produced the
Australian feature film Fink! written and directed by
Tim Boyle and starring AFI Best Actor Winner Sam Worthington.
Peter is currently Managing
